This project consists of the renovation of the historic Indianola Middle School to house 720 students in grades 6 through 12 for the Metro Early College High School. Indianola Middle School, currently leased from Ohio State University, is approximately 92,230sf and is located on a 7.6-acre parcel near the Ohio State University campus. The building is a three-story masonry bearing structure designed in the ArtDeco style and is designated as a historic structure on the National Register of Historical Places by the National ParksService. The foundations are concrete, walls are brick masonry, and the floors are poured concrete. The roof structures consist of steel bar joist with wood gable end rafters, roofing systems consist of asphalt built-up, ballasted rubber, and slate shingle, all in varying stages of disrepair as the building has been out of operation for several years.
